Three nutcracker kings in a window box
The Nutcracker Village Old World Nativity: Three Wise Men set is three traditional wooden nutcrackers dressed as the Magi, each standing in its own compartment behind a clear plastic window in one box. They are turned and painted wood figures with block feet on flat painted bases, real fur beards and fabric accents. Tan, a light kraft-paper beige, the box is framed by a dark teal border with a thin maroon line and dotted with small white tick marks like falling snow.
Left to right: the first king has a dark brown face, a full black fur beard and a red crown with a white band set with dark blue jewels; he wears a purple (deep violet) robe with a gold zigzag crown band and lavender cape, and holds a gift on a stand made of a green base, an orange ball and a red finial. Next comes the middle king, with a long gray-white fur beard, a gold crown trimmed in white, a dark red cape and a green robe with white dots and a gold band; he holds a small gold treasure chest painted with a cross pattern. The third king has a shorter gray fur beard, a gold crown, a red (true red) coat with gold star accents, and holds a gold orb with a purple band dotted in red and a gold cross on top. Each holds a white velvet drawstring bag hung on gold cord with a gold tassel. A blue base holds the first king, and green bases hold the other two.
The window panel reads NUTCRACKER with a TM mark in tall dark teal serif capitals, VILLAGE in smaller, widely spaced maroon capitals below it, and OLD WORLD NATIVITY: THREE WISE MEN in dark spaced serif capitals across the bottom. On top of the box is a round seal: a pale fir tree silhouette with HANDCRAFTED IN THE arched over the top and OLD WORLD TRADITION arched under it in small blue capitals, around NUTCRACKER and VILLAGE in the same teal and maroon lettering. A story panel titled WELCOME TO NUTCRACKER VILLAGE is printed in maroon serif type over a faded copy of the seal.
On this copy: the figures are still sealed in the box and were not measured. 1999 and Mom + Dad are handwritten in the upper right corner of the window panel. The box has scuffs, a torn and creased top flap, and scratches and dust on the plastic window.
