How to identify vintage Disney
- Copyright line: licensed pieces carry "© Disney" or "© The Walt Disney Company," plus the maker's name.
- Who sold it: The Disney Catalog, Disney Stores, the theme parks and outside licensees each made their own versions of the same characters, so check the box, caseback or tag to see which one you have.
- Park editions: Walt Disney World and Disneyland pieces are often numbered limited editions, unlike catalog or store versions.
- Reissues: popular designs were reissued later, so go by the year on the piece. The character alone won't date it.
