International Deepsilver Anniversary Rose Party Set: Silverplate Leaf Dish No. 348 and Rosebud Spoon, Red Box

The International Deepsilver Anniversary Rose party set is a boxed silverplate serving set: a leaf-shaped dish and a small serving spoon packed in white crepe tissue inside a white inner box, with a red lift-off lid. Its metal is silver, a bright mirror-polished silverplate, while the box lid is red, a deep cherry or crimson red, printed in cream.

The dish is a shallow leaf with a raised center vein and curved side veins pressed into the bowl, and a notched, serrated edge like a real leaf. At the stem end, a curved stem handle ends in a small rosebud. On the spoon, a rounded oval bowl leads to a slim handle that swells toward the end, where a raised rosebud sits at the tip, matching the dish. Printed at the left of the box lid is a long-stemmed rose with leaves drawn in cream outline. To the right, ANNIVERSARY ROSE is printed in two lines of open outlined serif capitals, "party set" in bold lowercase serif letters inside quotation marks, INTERNATIONAL in small spaced capitals, and DEEPSILVER in a wide typeface with a large D and S.

The underside of the dish is stamped near the center with the International Silver crest: three plumes rising over a shield with I and S in two small boxes, flanked by scrolls, with INTERNATIONAL SILVER COMPANY in two lines of small capitals and the number 348 below. A round yellow paper sticker on the underside reads Inspected with a large 6. On the back of the spoon handle, INTERNATIONAL DEEPSILVER is stamped in small capitals inside a long rectangular frame. Plain white card forms the bottom of the box.

On this copy: sizes not measured. The spoon is still in its plastic sleeve, and the dish is bright with fine surface scratches from handling. On the box lid are scuffs, small patches of torn-away paper at the upper right, and faded tape marks across the front, and the box bottom has four strips of old yellowed tape.
