Solid Blue Art Glass Dolphin Leaping from a Cobalt Bubble Wave, Clear Fins, Murano Style Figurine
An unmarked solid art glass figurine of a dolphin arching over the crest of a curling wave. The dolphin is a light sky to aqua blue cased in clear, with clear dorsal and pectoral fins, a clear tail fluke and a ruffled clear spray collar; the wave is deep cobalt blue filled with small trapped bubbles, its edges pulled into spiky clear-tipped points. Its oval base is ground flat and frosted. It is sold as Murano style, but no signature, sticker or label identifies the maker or country, and it differs from dolphin-and-pup and fish-inside versions.

A popular glass figurine form
Solid glass dolphins on waves were made in Murano-style shops and sold widely as coastal decor.
Light blue glass dolphin over a cobalt bubble wave
This blue art glass dolphin on a wave is a solid, hand-worked glass figurine: a dolphin arching up and over the crest of a tall curling wave. Its two parts are different blues. The dolphin is blue, a light sky to aqua blue cased in clear glass so it looks watery and bright, while the wave is blue, a deep saturated cobalt. Fins, tail and the spray around the dolphin are all clear, colorless glass. It is heavy for its size, as solid glass figurines are.
The dolphin has a rounded head with a short pointed beak, a small pressed dimple for each eye, a tall clear dorsal fin, two clear pectoral fins pulled out to the sides and a broad clear tail fluke that sweeps back over the wave. Where the dolphin meets the wave, a ruffled collar of clear glass splashes out like spray. Rising in an S curve from the base, the wave is packed with small trapped air bubbles (a controlled or random bubble effect), and its edges are pinched out into rows of small spiky points, clear at the tips, that read as breaking foam.
The underside is an oval, ground flat and left frosted, so the figurine sits level. Bubbles show through the base. No signature, etched mark, Murano sticker or label was found. Pieces like this are commonly sold as Murano style; nothing on it ties it to a specific factory or country.
On this copy: not measured; it stands roughly 7 to 8 inches tall judging by the hand holding it. The ground base has light scratches and some dirt in the frosting. No chips were seen on the fins, beak or wave points.

How do I identify a glass dolphin figurine?
