Pyrex Town & Country, 1963 to 1967
Town & Country was a Pyrex pattern introduced to consumers in 1963 and made by Corning Glass Works in Charleroi, Pennsylvania until about 1967, according to the Corning Museum of Glass. Its eight-pointed stars are drawn in hatched lines, which collectors also call cross-stitch stars. The 470 series were small round Cinderella casseroles with a spout and tab, sold with clear lids, and the 471 is the 1 pint size.
Yellow-orange Cinderella casserole with a band of hatched stars
The Pyrex Town & Country 471 Cinderella casserole is a small, round, shallow opal glass dish with the Cinderella shape: a pointed pour spout on one side and a matching flat tab handle on the other, both formed into the rim. Outside it is yellow, a warm golden yellow-orange or mustard; inside it is white, a glossy milk-glass white. It is the 1 pint size in the 470 series of Cinderella round casseroles, which were sold with clear lids.
Around the lower outside wall runs a single band of Town & Country stars: eight-pointed stars drawn as crossing bundles of short parallel hatch lines, like a cross-stitch, printed in brown, a dark chocolate brown that reads almost black. They sit spaced evenly around the dish, below the plain upper wall. The rim edge, spout and tab are unpatterned, with the yellow wrapping to the top edge and a thin white line at the lip.
Underneath, the center of the base is white opal glass with a round molded backstamp in raised capitals. The top arc carries the item number and capacity (worn; reads 471 and 1 PT), then TRADE MARK in an arc, a small two-digit mold number (worn), PYREX in large capitals across the middle, a circled R below it, MADE IN U.S.A. around the lower curve and OVENWARE along the bottom.
On this copy: the yellow exterior is glossy with light speckling and no heavy dishwasher fading seen. The white interior has light gray utensil marks and specks on the floor. Dirt sits in the letters of the molded backstamp. No chips or cracks were seen. No lid is shown. Size was not measured; the museum example of this item measures about 7.6 inches long including spout and tab.

About the Pyrex 471 Town & Country Casserole
What Pyrex pattern has brown hatched stars on yellow?
Town & Country, a Pyrex pattern made from 1963 to about 1967. The stars are eight-pointed and drawn in short hatched lines, so some sellers call them cross-stitch stars.
What does 471 on the bottom of my Pyrex mean?
It is the item number. 471 is the 1 pint Cinderella round casserole, the smallest of the 470 series casseroles, originally sold with a clear lid.
Is my Pyrex Town & Country a Cinderella bowl or a casserole?
Both use the Cinderella shape with a spout and a tab. Check the number: 441 to 444 are the mixing bowls, 471 to 475 are the round casseroles. This one is marked 471.
How old is Pyrex Town & Country?
The Corning Museum of Glass dates the pattern to 1963 to 1967, made at Corning's plant in Charleroi, Pennsylvania.
