China Garden Blue and White Floral Plate with Gold Rim, Tree Backstamp, Made in China
This is a China Garden white porcelain plate decorated with six transfer-printed sprays of blue roses, small daisies, forget-me-nots and leaves spaced around a wide rim, with a plain white center and a thin gold edge. The blue runs from strong cobalt outlines to pale shaded petals. In the center of the base, a black backstamp shows a small bonsai-style tree above a boxed CHINA GARDEN, with MADE IN CHINA below. That mark confirms the brand and country, but no pattern name or date is printed. It differs from the better known China Garden Prestige sets, which mix pink and blue roses.

About the China Garden mark
China Garden is a brand name printed on porcelain dinnerware made in China and sold in the US. Sets marketed as China Garden Prestige, often linked in listings to Guo Guang or Jian Shiang, are usually pink and blue roses with silver or gold trim, while this plate is all blue on white. We have not found the factory or the pattern name for this all-blue design.
White plate with blue rose sprays and a gold edge
This China Garden blue and white floral plate with a gold rim is a round, flat-rimmed porcelain plate with a wide rim and a shallow well. Its body is white, a bright glossy white, and the decoration is printed in blue, a strong cobalt to cornflower blue, with lighter blue shading in the petals. A thin line of gold, a warm yellow gold, runs around the very edge.
Six separate floral sprays are spaced around the rim, each spilling slightly down into the well while the center of the plate is left plain white. Each spray has one or two large open roses or peony-like blossoms drawn with dark blue outlines and pale blue petals, plus clusters of small five-petal daisies and forget-me-not style flowers, curling stems and pointed leaves. They are not identical, alternating between larger rose groups and lighter sprigs. The decoration is a printed transfer, not hand painted, and sits under a smooth clear glaze.
The back is plain white with a raised, unglazed foot ring. In the center of the base, the backstamp is printed in black: a small drawing of a bonsai-style tree with a dense speckled crown on a low oval base, above a thin rectangular box holding CHINA GARDEN in plain capitals with small serifs, and MADE IN CHINA below the box in smaller plain block capitals. No pattern name or number is printed.
On this copy: the plate looks like a salad or dessert size, roughly 7 to 8 inches across judged against a thumb (not measured). No chips or cracks are visible. The gold edge shows wear and darkening in places, and the foot ring has light gray grime from use.

About the China Garden Blue Floral Plate
What does the China Garden mark with a tree on the back of my plate mean?
It is the brand mark: a small tree drawing over CHINA GARDEN in a box, with MADE IN CHINA below. It tells you the brand and country but not the factory or pattern name.
What is the name of the blue flower China Garden pattern?
No pattern name is printed on the plate, and we have not found one in reference listings. Search for China Garden blue floral gold rim to find matching pieces.
Is my China Garden plate antique?
Probably not. The English MADE IN CHINA mark and the printed transfer decoration point to export dinnerware made for the US market, not antique Chinese porcelain. No date is printed, so the exact age is unknown.
