A Greenbrier mini teapot box in its green colorway
This miniature teapot hinged trinket box is a white porcelain teapot about 3 inches tall, with a lime green spout, handle and knob, a gold-tone hinged lid with a bow-shaped clasp, and a loose, cartoon-like painting of a slice of cake, a tall stemmed glass and red hearts over a pink lattice band. The piece has no mark at all. But the same design in yellow turns up still wearing its original hang tag, a small cream card printed "Porcelain Teapot" with flower sprigs, and the back of that tag reads "Distributed by: Greenbrier International, Inc." and "Made in China," with item number 865348 and a barcode.
Greenbrier International is Dollar Tree's sourcing company: Dollar Tree's annual reports list it as the subsidiary that buys goods for the stores. So these teapot boxes were most likely sold at Dollar Tree as inexpensive gifts, though no store sticker or catalog page was found to confirm the shop or the year. The factory in China isn't named. The tagged yellow copy has "12-06" written by hand on its tag, perhaps a December 2006 gift date, which fits Greenbrier's years as Dollar Tree's buyer.
It was one of a family of look-alike mini teapot boxes. The same squat, footed teapot with a scalloped collar around the lid comes in at least three color schemes for this cake, glass and hearts design: yellow spout and handle with a green collar, blue with a green collar, and lime green with a yellow collar like this one. One yellow copy adds red glitter to the hearts and a red stone on the clasp. Sister designs on the same teapot swap the picture for a layered cake, a steaming cup and the word "tea," or a cake and cup with the word "coffee," in pink, blue, yellow and green.
This copy is the green colorway, which didn't turn up in any live listing checked on October 29, 2026, though the yellow and blue versions did. Its glaze is crazed with fine cracks across the body, and the paint has worn thin in spots, so it has seen real use. The bottom has four gray felt pads and nothing else.
Which mini teapot box is it?
All of these share one teapot shape, a gold-tone hinged lid with a bow clasp, an unmarked bottom with four felt pads, and a "Porcelain Teapot" hang tag when new. The picture and the colors tell them apart. From this copy and eBay listing photos, checked October 29, 2026.

- No mark is normal. None of the copies checked has a stamp or sticker on the bottom; only the paper hang tag names the distributor.
- The felt pads. Four round gray felt dots on a flat white base are on every copy photographed from below.
- The hang tag. New boxes came with a small cream card printed "Porcelain Teapot" with flower sprigs, on a silver cord through the handle. It turns up on the yellow cake design and on the yellow and pink "tea" designs.
- "Wine glass" is the sellers' word. The drawing is a tall stemmed glass with a red teardrop on top; no listing or tag gives the design a name.
A lime green and white teapot box with cake, a stemmed glass and red hearts
The teapot is a squat, round white body (off-white, slightly creamy under the glaze) on a short, flared foot, about 3 inches tall to the knob. The spout and the curled, scroll-topped handle are glossy lime green (bright yellow-green), and so is the round knob on the domed white lid. A wide yellow scalloped band, like a flower outline, rings the shoulder around the lid opening, and a thin yellow scalloped line circles just above the foot.
The painting is drawn in thin black outlines filled with flat color. On each side, a yellow wedge of cake dotted with black sits on a plate, topped with a red frosting swirl and a small purple berry or cherry on a curling stem with a green leaf. Beside it stands a tall, thin stemmed glass on a round foot, topped with a red teardrop shape that sellers read as wine. Red hearts float above, with yellow curlicues, and a black line like a table edge runs around the body over a band of pink crisscross lattice. The lid sits in a gold-tone metal frame with a beaded edge, hinged at the back, with a small bow-shaped clasp at the front; inside, the metal rim is stamped with scrollwork.
- Front and back: the same scene of cake slice, stemmed glass and red hearts on both sides, over the pink lattice band.
- Spout, handle and knob: lime green glaze; the handle curls back with a little scroll at the top.
- Shoulder: yellow scalloped band around the lid opening.
- Lid: white dome with a green knob, set in a gold-tone beaded frame with a bow clasp at the front and a hinge at the back.
- Inside: plain white, hollow, with the stamped scroll pattern on the metal rim.
- Bottom: flat white, unmarked, with four round gray felt pads.
- This copy: fine crazing across the glaze, a few dark specks and worn spots on the body, some grime on the bottom and around the foot, wear on the green paint. The hinge and clasp work. No tag.

Who made the teapot trinket box with the cake and wine glass?
The box itself is unmarked, but a matching copy still has its hang tag: "Porcelain Teapot," distributed by Greenbrier International, Inc. and made in China. Greenbrier International is the sourcing company of Dollar Tree. The factory isn't named.
How old is it?
It isn't dated. It is a modern import, not an antique; the tagged copy has "12-06" written by hand on its tag, perhaps December 2006. No catalog or store date was found.
What colors does it come in?
The cake, glass and hearts design turns up with yellow, blue or lime green spouts and handles. This copy is the green one with a yellow scalloped collar. The same teapot shape also comes with "tea" and "coffee" designs.
Is it real porcelain?
It is sold as porcelain; the hang tag says "Porcelain Teapot." It's a glazed white body with painted decoration, a gold-tone metal hinge and felt pads on the bottom. This copy's glaze is finely crazed.
How big is it?
About 3 inches tall to the top of the knob and about 4 inches from spout to handle.
What is it worth?
A few dollars. On October 29, 2026, five live eBay listings of the same design in other colors asked $5 to $21 before shipping. These are asking prices, not sales.
