A Hummel-style bisque doctor scene
This figurine is unmarked, and its felt bottom hides any mark that might be underneath. Bisque figurines of a boy and girl playing doctor are listed for sale as made in Japan, in the style of Hummel-type children figurines.
A boy doctor and a girl with her doll on a grassy base
This vintage bisque playing doctor figurine shows two small children standing side by side on a rectangular grassy base: a boy dressed as a doctor and a girl bringing her doll as the patient. Unglazed matte bisque porcelain, it is hand painted in the style of Hummel-type children figurines, with soft pastel colors and rosy cheeks. The main colors are light blue, rust red, navy, blond yellow and grass green.
The boy, on the right, has short blond hair and wears a long doctor's coat in blue, a soft powder blue, buttoned to the neck. A black stethoscope hangs around his neck, he carries a black doctor's bag in one hand, and his other arm reaches toward the girl holding a small white object, perhaps a thermometer or syringe. On the left, the girl has blond hair with two pigtails sticking out and red-orange bows. She wears a navy bodice, puffed sleeves, a full skirt in red (a faded brick or rust red), white socks with navy dots and a navy band, and blue shoes. One foot is lifted behind her. She hugs a doll with a blue bonnet and a gray-violet dress with tiny red dots. Both faces have large painted eyes with lashes and small open red mouths. From the back you can see the boy's second hand tucked behind him.
The base is a rounded rectangle painted grass green, a medium leaf green, fading to white at the edges, with two tufts of dark green textured grass in front. Green felt covers the bottom entirely and runs to the edges, so any mark underneath is hidden. No maker's mark, sticker or country mark was seen on the figure or base.
On this copy: about 6 inches tall by eye (not measured); the base fits in the palm of a hand. The paint is rubbed on the girl's skirt and hair, there is dust in the crevices, and the felt is worn and a little fuzzy at the edges. No chips or breaks are visible.

About the Bisque Boy and Girl Playing Doctor Figurine
Who made the bisque figurine of a boy doctor and a girl with a doll?
This one is unmarked and the bottom is covered in felt. Similar figurines are listed as made in Japan, but no maker has been confirmed.
How can I check for a mark under the felt?
Hold the base up to a strong light; an ink stamp or sticker may show through thin felt. Lifting the felt can reveal a mark but will damage the original felt, so it is best left in place.
How old is a bisque playing doctor figurine?
There is no date mark. The Hummel-style bisque children look like mid 20th century Japanese export work, but that is a style estimate.
What is it worth?
The one similar listing in our comps was priced at about $21.
